Madonna Tatano currently serves as an Assistant District Attorney for Washington County where she has been involved in all aspects of criminal prosecution for twelve years. Her current assignments include responsibility for the Elder Abuse Investigative Unit and the Elder Abuse Task Force as well as practice before the minor judiciary handling preliminary hearings and pleas through the Fast Track Program. She has previously been assigned to the trial list of Judge John DiSalle where she handled cases from pre-trial motions through trial and sentencing. Prior to her appointment with the District Attorney’s Office, she served as Judge Katherine Emery’s Law Clerk while she attended night law school.

Prior to beginning her legal career, Madonna worked in her family’s businesses and raised 3 children while attending the University of Pittsburgh at night and later Duquesne Law School. She began college when her children were 1, 2 and 3 years old and completed law school when the children were 14, 15, and 16. Throughout some of that time she managed and sold real estate for several local companies.

Madonna Tatano was born and raised in Washington County in a working class family. Through the loving support and strong work ethic of her parents, Angelo and Irma Tatano, she was blessed to have their assistance in keeping her children on the right path as she furthered her own education. This background gives her the integrity and honesty to serve the citizens fairly. Her education and work experience give her the courage and competence to be tough on criminals while protecting the public. Her maturity gives her the compassion and judgment needed in a position of trust.
